May Arboretum Society Celebrates the changing of seasons with – Fabulous Grasses
Wilbur D. May Arboretum and Botanical Garden, Reno, Nevada – Celebrate the changing of the seasons with the May Arboretum Society.
Celebration will take place on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at 6:00pm at the Ranch House at Rancho San Rafael Park, 1595 North Sierra Street, Reno.
Ornamental grasses can be the focal point or the backdrop to a water-wise perennial garden. During this special evening with bestselling author, Tova Roseman, we’ll learn how to use large swaths of grasses to act as a windbreak or create a buffer or a privacy screen, in addition to learning what grasses are best for a meadow-like landscape or spectacular bloomers from mid-summer through winter. The selection and placement of these fabulous grasses combined with perennials to create a showy, garden that uses very little water and even less maintenance will also be covered.
Cost for non-members to attend this presentation is $15 – tickets may be purchased on the Society’s website at ww.mayarboretumsociety.org or at the door.
